When I started working at La Familia, an Italian restaurant in the centre of Spakenburg, I noticed that they did not yet have a website and were missing out on a lot of potential customers as a result. I offered to create one.

-WEBSITE
I wanted the website to welcome visitors as it should be in the restaurant itself. I made a promo video and used light colours. I also incorporated the font into a logo I made later. After taking photos in the restaurant itself, I was able to translate the atmosphere perfectly online. I still manage the site's inbox to this day.

-LOGO
For the logo, I chose colours that referred to the Italian flag on a slightly warmer white. The name of the restaurant itself is in a darker shade of red to represent a love of food, and the self-imposed slogan ‘The Italian heart of Spakenburg’ is in a slightly more playful light green. Because the logo is simplistic, it can be used in many different ways. Later, I used a black-and-white variant for the menus.

-MENU
After it became clear that prices were going to change, I saw this as an opportunity to adjust a few mistakes that were in the menu, along with giving it a fresher look. I chose a gold-black premium design with white lettering, making it easier to read. This along with oil paintings on the side and quotes at the bottom of the pages, which goes hand in hand with the layout of the physical restaurant. I also designed a drinks menu and dessert menu with the same style.
